As an EU individual you have the right to live and work in any other EU country. You might be sent by your employer to work in another country on a temporary basis.

If you are posted to another EEA state or Switzerland you may wish to continue to pay your social security contributions in Ireland.

If you are a non- resident company wishing to employ Irish resident employees who will also be posted to another EEA state or Switzerland you may wish to decide to pay this employee’s social security contributions in Ireland.

S1 portable document ensures that you or your employee has the same health entitlements in the state to which you or your employee is posted, as are available to nationals of that state.
